Apple iOS 18.3

Apple’s iOS 18.3 is on the horizon, bringing a smaller set of updates compared to its predecessors.

With the beta testing already underway, here’s what to expect regarding its release and features.

Expected Release Date

Apple’s beta testing cycle for iOS 18.3 closely mirrors the schedule of iOS 17.3 from last year.

Based on this pattern:

  • Beta 2: Early January 2025
  • Beta 3: Mid-January 2025
  • Release Candidate (RC): Late January 2025
  • Public Release: Late January or early February 2025

This timeline suggests users won’t have to wait long for the public release of iOS 18.3.

What’s New in iOS 18.3?

Unlike iOS 18.1 and iOS 18.2, which introduced major features, iOS 18.3 focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements.

Notable changes include:

  • Home App Updates: Support for robot vacuum integration.
  • Image Playground App: A refreshed icon design.
  • Writing Tools API Fixes: Resolves issues impacting third-party apps.
  • Genmoji Improvements: Bug fixes for smoother usage.
  • Feedback App Enhancements: Face ID and Touch ID login support.
  • Accessibility Updates: Dark mode support for the Camera Control menu icon.

Looking Ahead to iOS 18.4

While iOS 18.3 is a smaller update, Apple is expected to introduce new Apple Intelligence features in iOS 18.4, slated for beta testing later this month and a public release by March or April 2025.

Stay tuned for more updates as Apple continues refining its iOS ecosystem.
