HYBE has officially announced its plan to open a subsidiary in India by the second half of 2025.
On June 30, the company shared, “We are currently conducting market research and handling setup details, with the goal of launching around September or October.”
This move is part of HYBE Chairman Bang Si Hyuk’s global vision to apply the K-pop system to major music markets worldwide. The strategy, known as “Multi-home, Multi-genre,” focuses on adapting to local cultures and creating music that resonates with regional audiences.
Chairman Bang is personally leading this strategy, and it has already shown success in the United States. HYBE America’s girl group KATSEYE reached the Billboard Hot 100 less than a year after debuting.
HYBE’s efforts in Latin America are also progressing. Since launching HYBE Latin America in late 2023, the company has started two major artist discovery projects. One is the popular audition show “Pase a la Fama”, created with Mexican broadcaster Telemundo. Another project is preparing to form a new Latin boy group, both programs using K-pop-style training and mentorship.
A HYBE representative said, “Our strategy of entering major global music markets is already delivering results. If this continues, we may see big changes in the global music industry, which is now led by the top three major labels.”
With India’s population of over 1.4 billion and its growing music market, HYBE sees a major opportunity to expand its global reach and influence.
