Huawei Launches HarmonyOS 6 with Smarter AI and Touch-to-Share

Huawei HarmonyOS 6

Huawei has officially launched HarmonyOS 6 at its Developer Conference on June 20, 2025. The new version brings design updates and improved performance, but its most important upgrade is a powerful AI Agent Framework.

The new AI assistant, XiaoYi, now understands more natural language and screen content. Instead of relying only on voice commands, HarmonyOS 6 can guess what you need by reading your screen, similar to Google’s “Circle to Search.” For example, users can ask XiaoYi to help create Excel sheets or even build apps for HarmonyOS.

One standout feature is Touch and Share, which allows users to send files or connect games between supported Huawei phones and PCs by simply tapping them together. Supported devices have not been fully listed yet, but the feature may be limited to Huawei products.

The HarmonyOS 6 Developer Beta is now available. Developers can register until June 30, 2025, through the Huawei Developer Alliance after completing identity verification.

Supported devices include:

  • Huawei Mate 70 / Mate 70 Pro
  • Huawei Mate 60 / Mate 60 Pro
  • Huawei Mate X5
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 11-inch (2024)
  • Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025)

HarmonyOS 6 shows Huawei’s push into smarter, more interactive mobile software with deeper AI integration and better device connectivity.
