San Diego Comic-Con attendees were treated to a surprise teaser for the fifth and final season of The Boys on Friday. The footage was revealed at the end of the Gen V Season 2 panel and offered fans an early look at what’s to come in the hit Prime Video series.
Though short, the teaser was filled with the graphic violence and dark satire the show is known for. Among the standout moments were a new supe vomiting a bloody hairball, a violent explosion in a bathroom stall, and a dramatic speech from Homelander, played by Antony Starr, who declares, “This is a safer, more god-fearing nation.”
The storyline picks up where Season 4 ended, with Homelander now controlling the U.S. government through a newly elected president. The country is under martial law, and anyone opposing his rule is being targeted as part of his plan to “make America super again.”
A notable highlight for fans was the reunion of Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, who appeared briefly in the teaser. They join other Supernatural alumni already in The Boys universe, including Jensen Ackles and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The show’s creator, Eric Kripke, also created Supernatural, and longtime viewers had hoped for this crossover.
Seth Rogen, an executive producer on The Boys, also made a brief cameo in the teaser.
The teaser further hinted at more crossover with Gen V, the spinoff series. London Thor’s character Jordan Li was shown, continuing the shared storyline between the two shows. Other characters from Gen V are also set to appear in the upcoming season.
Returning cast members for Season 5 include Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso, and others. New faces joining the final season include Daveed Diggs and Paul Reiser. The show is expected to premiere sometime in 2026.
