Hideo Kojima has shared a small correction with a big flex. The legendary game creator revealed on Twitter that 79.5% of Death Stranding 2 players are continuing to play the game even after finishing the main story — not 79% as he previously reported.
“Of those who reached the ending, 79.5% are continuing to play,” Kojima wrote, thanking fans and encouraging them to keep enjoying the game. He added, “At the start of the week, it looks like many more ‘Sam-ones’ have reached the ending of the story.”
Death Stranding 2, which launched just over a month ago, is a 35+ hour game — or over 100 hours for completionists. The updated number shows impressive player retention, especially for a game known for its deep storytelling and cinematic style.
Fans praised the post-game content and Kojima’s signature storytelling, with many aiming to unlock the platinum trophy or uncover hidden details.
The update comes as Kojima prepares for his next project, OD, which he describes as “something totally different” — and a title that fans may fully understand only decades from now.
