DJ and producer Hardwell has shared a touching revelation about a missed opportunity to collaborate with the late Swedish artist Avicii on the track Seek Bromance, one of Avicii’s earliest hits.

Speaking in a recent interview at Tomorrowland, Hardwell explained that Avicii—whose real name was Tim Bergling—had approached him in the early stages of producing Seek Bromance in 2010. At the time, Hardwell was busy working on his own EP.

“At that time when Tim was working on Bromance, he asked me to do a collaboration on that track with him,” Hardwell said. “I was super busy. I didn’t decline him, I just said, ‘You know, one day we’ll work on a song.’”

That collaboration never came to be, and Seek Bromance went on to become a solo success for Avicii, helping launch his global career. Avicii died in 2018 at the age of 28, leaving behind a legacy that continues to influence electronic music. Hardwell’s comments have reignited interest in Avicii’s early work and highlighted a poignant “what if” moment for EDM fans.

In addition to the Avicii news, Hardwell also revealed that he is currently in talks with fellow Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren for a potential third collaboration. The two artists have previously worked together on popular tracks like Off the Hook and Follow Me, which have been widely praised within the EDM community.

“We’re talking,” Hardwell said, confirming discussions but offering no details or timeline for a new project. Fans are hopeful that the reunion will result in another high-energy anthem that continues their legacy of impactful dance music collaborations.

While no official announcements have been made, fans are encouraged to stay tuned for updates from both artists.
