Indiana Pacers fans received a rare boost of optimism this week as Tyrese Haliburton was seen shooting confidently during a practice session at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The sight came seven months after he ruptured his right Achilles tendon in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.

Haliburton, who is out for the entire 2025–26 season, worked on his jumper in a controlled, rehab-focused setting. Wearing a bright yellow practice jersey, the All-Star guard looked comfortable and composed, offering encouragement to a Pacers team struggling near the bottom of the Eastern Conference.

The 25-year-old remains focused on a full recovery, with the team prioritising his long-term health over a rushed return. Before his injury, Haliburton averaged 18.6 points and 9.2 assists per game, serving as Indiana’s primary playmaker.

Earlier in the day, Haliburton also added some humour to the moment. He posted a playful message on social media aimed at Celtics star Jayson Tatum, who is also recovering from an Achilles injury, highlighting their friendly rivalry and shared rehab journey.

The positive atmosphere carried into the night as the Pacers secured a gritty 98–96 win over the Boston Celtics on January 12, 2026. The victory marked Indiana’s third straight win, their longest streak of the season.

Pascal Siakam sealed the game with a clutch runner with 6.1 seconds remaining. He finished with 21 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, while Jay Huff added 20 points off the bench.

Indiana has leaned heavily on veterans like Siakam in Haliburton’s absence. While results have been inconsistent, the team has shown increased resilience in recent games.

Although Haliburton is not expected back until the 2026–27 season, his visible progress continues to lift spirits. For the Pacers, the combination of short-term wins and long-term hope is providing renewed belief during a difficult campaign.
