After years of anticipation, GTA 6 fans are finally seeing their dreams come true—Grand Theft Auto VI has officially landed on the PlayStation Store. The news has sparked a wave of excitement among fans, with many expressing disbelief and joy at the sight of the game being listed for wishlisting.
The highly anticipated next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series has been a decade in the making, and with Rockstar Games unveiling the first trailer in December 2023, the wait seemed almost unbearable.
Although the game’s release was delayed from its initial 2025 window, with the official launch now set for May 26, 2026, fans were ecstatic to see the game’s progress—and the second trailer that dropped shortly after the announcement.
Now, with the game officially listed on the PlayStation Store, the hype has only intensified. Fans can finally add the title to their wishlists, further solidifying the reality of GTA 6 coming to life. Although the game is currently not available on the Xbox Marketplace, it’s expected to make its way there soon.
The GTA 6 storyline follows two protagonists, Jason and Lucia, as they navigate the dangerous underworld of Leonida, a fictionalized version of Florida.
The game’s synopsis hints at a thrilling criminal conspiracy that forces the duo to rely on each other to survive: “Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America.”
Fans on social media have shared their excitement:
“It feels good to see the game already in the PlayStation Store,” said Separate-Anywhere642.
“Seeing the game in the PS Store gives me hope for the May release,” commented Justdroid, hoping there won’t be another delay.
“Despite getting an official announcement, two trailers, and a whole load of screenshots, for me this is the moment where it all sank in that this is actually happening,” exclaimed krispykesk.
“Now we wait for pre-orders,” added The_Almighty_Alpha, with StringAccomplished97 chiming in, “It feels real now.”
GTA 6 will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, but a PC release date is yet to be confirmed.
