A new US government report has revealed some of the most shocking objects that sent people to hospital after becoming stuck in their vaginas last year.
The data comes from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). It is based on emergency room visits where doctors had to remove foreign objects. Many of these cases required medical intervention due to pain, injury, or infection risk.
Health officials say the findings highlight the serious dangers of inserting everyday items into the body. Most of the objects were not designed for intimate use.
Objects Found in Vaginal ER Visits
According to the CPSC database, doctors removed items including:
- Holiday bell
- Lighter
- Aluminium foil
- Cotton balls
- Popsicle stick
- Gemstone
- Small plastic toys such as an orca or mermaid
In one case, a woman reportedly inserted two diamond rings during a party because she feared they might be stolen.
More Unusual Cases Reported
The list did not end there. Other items included:
- Latex glove
- Bath bomb
- Bracelet charms
- Two vibrators
- Penis rings
- Spoons
- Hairbrush
- Detergent pod
- Plunger cap
- Beer bottle, reportedly during a honeymoon cruise
Some patients said the objects became lodged by accident, while others reported discomfort after leaving items inside for several days.
Health Warning From Experts
Doctors warn that inserting non-medical items can cause internal injuries, burns, infection, and long-term damage. They strongly advise seeking immediate medical help rather than attempting removal at home.
The CPSC says it tracks these cases to better understand injury trends and to raise public awareness about preventable health risks.
