Google Pixel 10 To Support Macro Photography on Both Telephoto and Ultrawide Cameras

Google is set to announce the Pixel 10 series on August 20. A new leak reveals that the Pixel 10’s telephoto camera will gain a macro shooting feature, allowing users to take detailed close-up photos with the telephoto lens. This makes the telephoto lens a “tele-macro” camera.

In addition, Google will keep using ultrawide cameras with autofocus, which also support macro shots.

The ultrawide lens can focus closer than the telephoto, so users will have a choice: use the telephoto for better quality macro photos or switch to the ultrawide if the subject is very close. Though the ultrawide shots might be lower quality, they are helpful when the telephoto cannot focus that close.

The Pixel 10 phones will launch on August 28 and will run on the new Tensor G5 chip, which is made by TSMC for the first time. This change is expected to bring better performance and battery life compared to previous models.

Google will also introduce new color options for the Pixel 10 series. All models will support Qi2 wireless charging, but unlike Apple’s built-in magnets, Pixel’s wireless charging magnets will come in the phone cases.
