Google Pixel 10 Lets You Use MagSafe Accessories Without a Case

Google’s new Pixel 10 series now supports Qi2, a wireless charging standard that brings magnetic compatibility to Android phones. This means many MagSafe accessories, originally made for iPhones, will work directly with the Pixel 10 phones, even without a case.

MagSafe was first introduced by Apple to attach accessories like chargers and wallets without cables. Google has now adopted Qi2 fully, adding magnetic hardware under the back glass of the Pixel 10 devices. This allows magnetic accessories to attach directly to the phone.

During hands-on testing, the magnetic ring on the Pixel 10 is positioned around the “G” logo, making accessories like wallets and charging pucks fit well. Some larger accessories might overlap with the camera bar, but most chargers and mounts should work without problems.

Users should note that if they buy a case, it must be Qi2-compatible to ensure the magnetic array aligns correctly with the phone. Otherwise, wireless charging may not function properly.

The Pixel 10 series’ new Qi2 support is backwards-compatible, allowing users to use many existing MagSafe accessories. This is a major update for Android users who have wanted a similar experience to Apple’s MagSafe for years.
