Google has reportedly canceled development of the Pixel Tablet 3, codenamed Kiyomi, according to multiple industry sources.
The decision was made last week, with project team members reassigned to other internal projects.
The Pixel Tablet 2, expected to launch soon, will likely be Google’s final tablet offering. The upcoming device may feature a first-party keyboard case, unlike its predecessor.
This decision underscores Google’s ongoing challenges in the tablet market, where Android tablets have struggled to compete with Apple’s iPad.
The company previously withdrew from the tablet space in 2019 before reintroducing the Pixel Tablet in 2022.
Google appears to be shifting its tablet strategy, with potential plans to merge Chrome OS into Android and explore alternative form factors.
