Google August Event: Pixel 9, Pixel Watch 3 and AI Upgrades

Google August Event 2024

Google has announced it will hold its annual Made by Google hardware event on August 13th this year, several months earlier than usual. The keynote, titled “AI… meet IX at Made by Google,” will showcase the company’s latest Pixel devices and AI advancements.

The event will feature the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro smartphones, the Pixel Watch 3, and a focus on Google’s AI capabilities. A smaller Pixel 9 Pro model is also expected, along with a potential Pixel 9 Pro Fold.

Google typically unveils new Pixel hardware in October, but is moving the event up this year. The earlier date may help minimize pre-event leaks that have plagued past Pixel launches.

In addition to new devices, the event will highlight Google’s progress in AI. The Pixel 9 phones are rumored to use a powerful Tensor G4 chip enabling advanced on-device AI capabilities.

The Made by Google 2024 keynote kicks off at 10am PT on August 13th, with hands-on demos to follow.
