Fans of Justin Bieber believe Selena Gomez may have taken a subtle jab at her ex during a recent episode of Disney’s Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.
Bieber and Gomez famously dated on and off from 2010 to 2018. Bieber, now 31, married Hailey Bieber in 2018, and the couple welcomed their first child, Jack Blues, in August last year. Gomez, 33, married record producer Benny Blanco in September 2025.
During the Disney show, Gomez’s character, Alex Russo, talks to her on-screen daughter about heartbreak. She says: “Oh yeah, as someone whose type is bad boys who you think you can fix, but you can’t, so you end up writing songs about them… Oh I know what I’m talking about.”
Fans quickly took to social media, suggesting the line was a playful reference to Bieber. Some joked that Gomez was “still shading him” years after their split, while others reminded viewers that actors follow scripts and the comments might not be personal.
The debate highlights the continued public interest in the former couple, even years after their relationship ended.
