Drake surprised his fans on Friday night by debuting a new single, “What Did I Miss,” during a livestream on YouTube. The single is the first release from his upcoming album, Iceman.
The livestream showed Drake driving a van around Toronto, decorated with Iceman branding, as he talked about his life and discussed the album. The new track quickly got fans’ attention for including lines aimed at Kendrick Lamar, Drake’s longtime rival.
In one verse, Drake raps, “I saw bro in the Pop Out with them but been d*ckriding gang since Headlines,” referring to Kendrick’s Pop Out concert in Los Angeles last year. The feud between the two artists began in 2024 and has included several public exchanges and songs with pointed lyrics.
Fans have given mixed reactions to the livestream and the new single. Some praised the production, while others felt Drake’s style was too familiar. “Great production but good god he’s been doing this flow since CLB,” one fan commented. Another wrote, “Unfortunately for the haters this a banger.”
Drake has not yet announced the release date for Iceman or shared more details about the album. For now, “What Did I Miss” is the first official taste of what fans can expect from his next project.
