Netflix viewers are calling for a second season of the new drama The Hunting Wives, which has been surprising fans with shocking twists in every episode.
The show, released last month, follows Sophie, a woman who leaves city life in Boston for rural Texas. Her new life takes a dark turn as she becomes obsessed with a local socialite, leading to seduction, jealousy, and murder.
The Hunting Wives stars Brittany Snow, Malin Åkerman, Dermot Mulroney, Chrissy Metz, and others. The series is based on May Cobb’s novel, who also serves as a producer.
Fans have taken to social media to praise the show and demand more episodes. One Twitter user wrote, “Every single episode of The Hunting Wives shocks me every single time like wtf this s*** keeps getting crazier.” Another pleaded, “Please renew The Hunting Wives, pls I am begging @netflix.”
Critics have also responded positively. The series holds an 81% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Vulture’s Roxana Hadadi called it “a rock-solid foundation of soap-opera plotting.”
The Los Angeles Times praised the strong dynamic between characters, while Decider described it as “ridiculous” but unapologetically fun.
With such strong fan and critic support, many hope Netflix will greenlight a second season soon.
