Aston Martin has signed a licensing deal with Meccano to release a 1:8-scale model of its 2025 Formula 1 car, the AMR25.

The Meccano Pro x Aston Martin Formula 1 car will allow fans to build a highly detailed version of the car at home. The model is aimed at experienced adult builders.

The kit will include working steering, a fully functioning engine, and movable DRS, making it a realistic replica of the race car.

Matt Chapman, head of licensing at Aston Martin, said the deal “allows us to translate the complexity of our race car into a tangible experience for fans.” He added that Aston Martin is the first F1 team to collaborate with Meccano on a licensed product.

Dave Martin and Mary Price, co-founders of Addo Play, praised the partnership. They said the project highlights their commitment to premium engineering builds and marks a new chapter for Meccano’s licensed products.

The model is scheduled for release in August 2026, just ahead of the new Formula 1 season.

Aston Martin will also debut its 2026 car on 9 February, two days before testing begins. The team, led by Lawrence Stroll, finished seventh in the 2025 constructors’ standings. Drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso will aim for a stronger performance next season.

The 2026 season will also mark Aston Martin’s first year with Honda power units and Adrian Newey as team principal, raising expectations for fans and the team alike.
