Ex-Google X Team Launches TwinMind: An AI That Remembers Everything

Former Google X employees have revealed TwinMind, an AI assistant that continuously listens and learns about its users. The startup has raised $2.5 million and is valued at $30 million.

The app runs in the smartphone background, recording audio and converting it to text for its memory bank. Users can review their day’s key moments and interact with an AI that understands their personal context.

TwinMind processes data locally on phones but can connect to cloud services when needed. The company claims the app can run for 12 hours without significantly impacting battery life.

The startup plans both free and premium versions, with a $20 monthly tier offering access to advanced AI models. A Chrome extension and Gmail integration will allow for contextually aware email drafting.

Founded by Daniel George and Sunny Tang, TwinMind emerged from their work on Project Wolverine at Google X. The company has attracted investment from notable tech figures including Oracle’s chief AI scientist.

TwinMind is currently seeking $5 million in seed funding and plans to launch first on iPhone and Chrome, with Android and Mac versions following in 2025.
