At a recent all-hands meeting at Meta, Mark Zuckerberg opened up about the challenges of maintaining confidentiality in the company, stating, “Everything I say leaks. And it sucks, right?”
He acknowledged the growing issue of internal information being leaked and the impact it has on his ability to speak freely within the company.
To address the problem, Meta has modified the question-and-answer section of these meetings. Instead of taking direct questions, the company introduced a poll system, where questions are submitted and voted on beforehand, ensuring that the main themes are addressed.
Zuckerberg expressed frustration over this shift, saying it was necessary to protect the company’s strategy from leaks but also stifled open dialogue.
He mentioned that some topics were too sensitive to discuss openly, acknowledging that this may be part of the challenge of running a large-scale company.
The conversation also touched on broader company issues, including AI’s role in the workforce and Zuckerberg’s views on open-source AI eventually surpassing closed-source models.
He also highlighted the company’s ability to work more effectively with the Trump administration due to shifts in Meta’s platform policies.
