The Eurovision Song Contest 2025 is set to take place in Basel, Switzerland, marking the city’s debut as a host for this iconic competition.
Following Nemo’s victory in Malmö 2024, Switzerland is gearing up to welcome fans from across the globe for this spectacular event in May 2025.

The Eurovision week will feature three live shows, all starting at 21:00 CEST:
- Semi-final 1: 13 May 2025
- Semi-final 2: 15 May 2025
- Grand Final: 17 May 2025
Host City: Basel
Basel, Switzerland’s third-largest city, is located on the banks of the Rhine, near the borders of France and Germany. Known for its rich culture, vibrant business scene, and efficient public transport, Basel offers a perfect setting for Eurovision.
The city boasts a well-connected transportation system, including trams and buses, and is close to the Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg Airport, making it convenient for international visitors.
Venue: St. Jakobshalle
The Eurovision 2025 performances will take place at St. Jakobshalle, a versatile indoor arena known for hosting major events like concerts, sports tournaments, and TV shows.
With a seating capacity of up to 12,400, it has previously hosted stars like Madonna and Queen.
Participants
A total of 38 countries will compete in Eurovision 2025. Notable updates include Montenegro’s return after a two-year break. The Big-5 countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom) and host nation Switzerland are pre-qualified for the Grand Final. The remaining countries will compete in the Semi-finals, with 10 from each advancing to the Grand Final.

Tickets for Eurovision 2025 go on sale starting 29 January 2025, but pre-registration is required by 10 January 2025.
Fans are encouraged to act quickly, as demand is expected to be high.
Eurovision Village and EuroClub
The Eurovision Village, located outside the Messe & Congress Center Basel, will host live performances, DJ sets, and public viewing of the shows.
The EuroClub, also at the same venue, will be the hotspot for afterparties and exclusive performances by Eurovision participants.
