The creator of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, surprised fans after teaming up with Balenciaga for a special runway show during Paris Fashion Week.
The collaboration took place on March 7. Levinson worked with Balenciaga creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli to create the visual concept for the show. While Piccioli designed the clothing collection, Levinson handled the staging and cinematography.
Large video screens surrounded the runway. They showed unseen footage from the upcoming third season of Euphoria. The show also featured images from the series printed on some of the clothes, blending fashion and television in one event.
The event included several cast members from the HBO drama. Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi and Hunter Schafer are set to return for the new season. New actors like Danielle Deadwyler and Priscilla Delgado also attended the show.
According to Levinson, the idea for the collaboration started after he met Piccioli in 2022. The two creatives discovered they shared a similar way of thinking about characters, clothing and visual storytelling.
Levinson said he used landscapes, moon imagery and character close-ups from the upcoming season to create a montage that played during the show. Models were later filmed to blend into the Euphoria world, creating a mix of fashion and cinematic storytelling.
The third season of Euphoria will jump five years into the future and explore the characters’ lives after high school. Levinson said the new season feels “deeper” and more mature while still keeping the intense style the show is known for.
Season 3 of Euphoria is set to premiere on April 12, ending a wait of more than four years since the previous season aired.
