Epic Medieval RPG Combines Skyrim and The Witcher — Free Playtest Open

Of Ash and Steel

A new RPG called Of Ash and Steel combines the best parts of The Witcher 3, Skyrim, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II — and you can play it for free if you’re lucky.

Developed by Fire & Frost and published by tinyBuild, Of Ash and Steel offers a third-person medieval action experience that feels weighty and exciting. Unlike some games where combat feels slow or clunky, this one promises fast, powerful skills and intense fights.

The game’s dark and atmospheric world looks challenging and immersive, perfect for fans of serious RPGs who want to see their character battling through chaos and danger.

Although there is no official release date yet, the developers have opened a limited playtest on Steam. Players can sign up now for a chance to try the game in 2025 before its full launch.

If you love games like Skyrim and The Witcher but want a fresh, fun combat system, this is one to watch. Slots for the playtest are limited, so it’s best to sign up soon.
