EA has announced that Madden NFL 21’s online servers will be officially shut down on Monday, June 30, 2025.
After this date, all of the game’s online multiplayer features will become inaccessible, and players will no longer be able to earn online-exclusive achievements or trophies.
Originally released on August 6, 2020, Madden NFL 21 received mixed reviews and has since seen declining support.
The server shutdown means that achievements such as “Head-to-Head” (win a Head to Head game in an online league) and “Bragging Rights” (win the Super Bowl in an online league) will be impossible to unlock after June 30.
This is part of a larger wave of EA game shutdowns in 2025, which already includes:
- The Simpsons: Tapped Out (January 24)
- UFC 3 (February 17)
- NCAA 14 (March 13)
- And soon Madden NFL 22, scheduled for shutdown on October 20
Despite the closure of older titles, EA will continue its annual cycle, with Madden NFL 26 releasing this summer and online services for newer entries remaining active—for now.
Players who still want to earn Madden NFL 21’s online trophies or simply enjoy online matches should make the most of the remaining time before the June 30 deadline.
