Doogee has introduced the Blade GT, a rugged phone with a design that looks a lot like the Nothing Phone 3. The Blade GT has a back covered in LED lights, which Doogee calls “Light Elf.” This design seems to copy the Glyph Interface, a feature that made Nothing phones famous.
The Blade GT’s back panel lights up with flashing LEDs, which are hard to miss. The LEDs are used for notifications, calls, music, and charging. The phone even has 6 LED strips that change based on the phoneโs mood, showing happy, sad, or excited expressions.
While the design is eye-catching, it doesnโt offer the same level of customization or ecosystem integration as the Nothing phones.
On the front, the Blade GT has a 6.72-inch display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Itโs not an OLED screen, so the colors wonโt be as vibrant, but it works well for its price range.
The phone runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, making it suitable for most tasks like streaming and gaming.
The Blade GT also has a 100MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. The camera performs well in good lighting, but may struggle in low-light situations. The 32MP selfie camera works well for video calls and photos. The phone also includes AI photo editing tools like background removal and a Magic Eraser feature.
Despite its flashy design, the Blade GT stays true to Doogeeโs rugged roots. Itโs certified MIL-STD 810G for durability and has an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. The 5000mAh battery lasts all day and can work in extreme temperatures, from -40ยฐC to 70ยฐC.
At $359, the Blade GT is a solid phone for its price, offering a mix of ruggedness and flashy design. However, it still has a long way to go before it competes with the mainstream players like Nothing.
