Donald Trump has criticized the Emmy nomination given to CBS’s 60 Minutes for its interview with Kamala Harris, calling it unfair.
The nomination is for Outstanding Edited Interview, following the segment “The Democratic Ticket”.
Trump claims the interview was edited in a way that benefited Harris’ election campaign, misrepresenting her responses. This comes as Trump is suing CBS for $20 billion, alleging the editing was done intentionally.
CBS and 60 Minutes have denied these claims, stating that the interview was not misleading.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), which oversees the Emmys, said nominations are reviewed by independent judges who focus on the quality of the journalism, not political views.
Trump’s lawsuit focuses on First Amendment rights and Texas consumer law, but many legal experts doubt the case will succeed. The 2025 Emmy Awards will be held on June 25.
Trump has previously criticized the Emmy ceremony for not awarding his show, The Apprentice, in the past.
