Witness testimony will continue on Tuesday in the third week of the sex trafficking and racketeering trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs in New York City.
Federal prosecutors plan to call Combs’ former assistant, Capricorn Clark, along with representatives from the Los Angeles fire and police departments.
Over the past two weeks, prosecutors have called 16 witnesses. They are trying to show that Combs used threats and violence to force women into sex and protect his music business.
Key witnesses who have already testified include singer and former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, her mother Regina, Combs’ former assistants David James and George Kaplan, and rapper Kid Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi.
Combs has pleaded not guilty. He denies all accusations of sexual assault and trafficking. His lawyers say the allegations are based on jealousy and drug issues. They argue that Combs’ personal lifestyle, while unusual, does not equal sex trafficking.
Court proceedings will continue Tuesday as the case moves forward.
