Deep State in ‘Panic Mode’ After Major Money Sources Shut Down

Journalist Alex Newman says powerful global political networks are reacting with fear after major sources of funding were cut off by the Trump administration. Newman shared his views during an interview on Greg Hunter’s USAWatchdog.com.

Newman claims the arrest of Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro in early January 2026 disrupted what he describes as a major financial hub for left‑wing movements. He argues that Venezuela had served as a key source of money through oil and drug trafficking, and its loss weakened wider political operations.

According to Newman, the Venezuela operation sent “a shock wave” through what he calls the global Left. He says certain activist movements in the United States and Latin America were funded by the same international networks. These claims reflect Newman’s personal analysis and are not independently verified.

Newman also pointed to recent U.S. funding cuts as another reason for concern among global organizations. In early January, President Donald Trump ordered the U.S. to withdraw from 66 international and UN-linked entities, including the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). This move will end U.S. financial support to those groups, according to the White House.

He said these decisions removed what he sees as major money pipelines for international political programs. Trump’s order followed a yearlong review of global organizations deemed wasteful or hostile to U.S. interests. The White House described the move as a step to protect U.S. sovereignty.

Newman also alleged that Venezuelan officials helped develop systems used in election interference across several countries. He claims software developed in Caracas influenced elections in Latin America and the United States. These allegations remain unproven and are presented as Newman’s opinion.

Federal officials have confirmed significant anti‑fraud actions, including tighter money transfer rules and canceled federal payments tied to welfare fraud cases. These actions were announced separately by U.S. financial authorities and are not directly linked to Newman’s broader claims.

Newman says these developments mark only the beginning of wider political conflict. He warns of growing tension both globally and inside the United States. The full interview runs about 60 minutes and is available on USAWatchdog.com.
