‘Click to Do’: Get Things Done Faster in Windows 11

Microsoft has launched a new AI feature called “Click to Do” for Windows 11, available only on Copilot+ PCs. This tool uses AI built into the computer to help users perform quick actions based on what is shown on the screen.

Unlike Microsoft To Do, which manages tasks, Click to Do lets users interact with text and images right on their screen. The feature works locally on the PC using a Neural Processing Unit (NPU), which keeps data private unless users choose to connect to the cloud.

When users select text and right-click, they get AI options such as summarizing, rewriting, or turning the text into bullet points. If an image is selected, users can remove backgrounds or share the image instantly. These options depend on having apps like Photos, Office, Teams, Excel, or Word installed.

To use Click to Do, users first enable it in Settings > Privacy & security. Then, they can access it by pressing Windows + Q, using Windows + left-click, or launching it from tools like the Snipping Tool. The feature shows a small toolbar with actions based on the selected content. It also works smoothly with apps to draft messages, create documents, or schedule meetings quickly.

Click to Do requires a Copilot+ PC with an NPU, such as devices with Qualcomm Snapdragon X or AI-ready chips from Intel or AMD. Users also need updated versions of apps like Office and Teams to enjoy full functionality.

In short, Click to Do is a fast, private, and smart AI feature in Windows 11. It helps users get things done directly from their screen without needing to switch apps or send data to the cloud, unless they want to.
