Markiplier’s debut horror film Iron Lung is set to receive an international cinema release after being picked up by major UK cinema chain Cineworld. The move means British audiences will be able to watch the film in theatres later this month.
Cineworld confirmed on 9 January that it will begin screening Iron Lung from 29 January 2026, a day earlier than its wider release in the United States. Tickets have already gone on sale, with strong demand reported from fans.
The film, developed over several years, marks the first feature-length movie from the US YouTube creator, who has repeatedly stated that he would only release it with a full theatrical run. Until recently, it was unclear whether the film would be shown outside the US due to licensing concerns.
In late 2025, Markiplier announced that Iron Lung would open in American cinemas after being picked up by independent theatres. This was later expanded to include major chains such as AMC, Cinemark, and Regal, with a nationwide US release scheduled for 30 January.
Following the announcement, Markiplier said he had been approached about international screenings but was unsure whether distribution rights would allow it. Cineworld’s decision appears to have resolved that uncertainty.
Reaction from UK audiences has been enthusiastic, with fans rushing to book seats ahead of the film’s release. The UK screenings mark a significant step in the film’s rollout and reflect the growing crossover between online creators and traditional cinema.
