Christopher Nolan’s new film, The Odyssey, is getting attention with its first teaser trailer. The trailer is currently playing only in theaters before Jurassic World Rebirth and shows the film will hit cinemas on July 17, 2026.
The trailer gives a glimpse of the story, focusing on Ithaca, a kingdom in trouble while its king, Odysseus, is missing. Tom Holland stars as Telemachus, Odysseus’s son, who is desperate to find out what happened to his father. He confronts a man named Antinous, played by Jon Bernthal, who leads the suitors trying to take the throne by marrying Odysseus’s wife, Penelope.
Bernthal’s Antinous mocks Telemachus and denies Odysseus’s return, showing how the kingdom has fallen into chaos. The trailer also shows epic scenes like stormy seas, the famous Trojan Horse, and Odysseus himself, played by Matt Damon, adrift and broken at sea.
Unlike many heroic tales, this Odyssey focuses on the emotional struggle of a family and a kingdom falling apart without its leader. Nolan’s film looks at the cost of turning a man into a legend and the dangers lurking both in the world and at home.
The Odyssey promises a mix of mythic adventure and deep drama. Fans will see how Ithaca struggles in Odysseus’s absence and what it takes to reclaim a lost legacy.
