Actor Cosmo Jarvis has officially left the cast of The Odyssey, director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming epic film. According to a report by Deadline, Jarvis stepped away from the project due to scheduling conflicts. He will be replaced by Logan Marshall-Green, known for his roles in Prometheus, Upgrade, and HBO’s And Just Like That….
The Odyssey is Nolan’s first film since Oppenheimer and is set to release in theaters on July 17, 2026. While Jarvis’ role in the film had not been publicly revealed, his departure comes as he prepares to take on multiple major roles, including the lead in Young Stalin, the second season of FX’s Shōgun, and Guy Ritchie’s new film Wife & Dog.
Logan Marshall-Green is new to Nolan’s productions but brings a solid résumé to the project. His recent work includes Netflix’s Carry-On and various high-profile film and television roles.
Details about the plot of The Odyssey remain mostly under wraps. However, it is expected to follow the classic story of Odysseus, played by Matt Damon, and his long journey home after the fall of Troy.
Tom Holland will portray his son, Telemachus, and Zendaya is also part of the large ensemble cast, which includes Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron, Jon Bernthal, and others.
A teaser for the film recently debuted alongside Jurassic World: Rebirth, offering a first glimpse of Holland’s Telemachus and Damon’s Odysseus.
