A simple prompt formula called the “3-word rule” is helping users get better and more focused answers from ChatGPT. This technique uses three key elements in a prompt: role, task, and tone.

The rule is easy to use. First, you assign a role to ChatGPT. This tells the AI what kind of expert it should act as. For example, you can say, “As a financial advisor…”

Next, you define the task. This helps the AI know exactly what you want it to do. For example, “Explain the benefits of investing in index funds.”

Finally, you set the tone. This controls how the answer should sound. You might ask for a reply “in a friendly and approachable manner.”

When you put it all together, the prompt might look like this:

“As a financial advisor, explain the benefits of investing in index funds in a friendly and approachable manner.”

This method gives the AI clear guidance. It helps ChatGPT give answers that are more relevant, useful, and easier to understand. By using this technique, anyone can get expert-level responses, even on complex topics.

The 3-word rule is a quick way to make your prompts better. It works well for writing, research, learning, and even customer support.
