Chappell Roan told Vogue that she has not started working on her second album yet. The singer, known for her 2024 hit album The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, said, “There is no album. There is no collection of songs. It took me five years to write the first one, and it’s probably going to take at least five to write the next.”
Roan, whose real name is Kayleigh Rose Amstutz, explained that she takes her time with music. Her debut album, released in September 2023, took five years to finish. It was a big success and included hit songs like “Good Luck, Babe!” and “Hot to Go!”
The album earned her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2024 and a Grammy win for Best Pop Vocal Album in 2025. She also sold out tours and performed at major festivals like Coachella and Governors Ball.
The 26-year-old singer from Missouri is now touring but does not have a date for new music. Her debut album told her story from a small-town dreamer to a worldwide star with 14 personal songs.
Even though she released singles like “The Giver” and “The Subway” in 2025, she says her next album will take time because she wants to focus on quality.
