Cassie testified that her now-husband, Alex Fine, once FaceTimed her while she was having sex with Sean “Diddy” Combs, adding another layer of emotional complexity to the already intense federal trial against the music mogul.
During her second day of cross-examination on May 16, Cassie told the court that the FaceTime call from Fine happened in September 2018, during a time when she was still involved with Diddy. She said the sexual activity was consensual but followed an alleged sexual assault by Diddy on a different night.
“That wasn’t the evening when I was raped,” Cassie clarified in court, pushing back against the defense’s suggestion that she told Alex Fine the incident involved assault.
Cassie also admitted she was emotionally conflicted at the time. In October 2018, just weeks after the incident, she texted Diddy saying, “I’m lost without you.” During the trial, she confessed she felt hurt after Diddy publicly referred to his late partner Kim Porter as his soulmate. She also said she and Diddy never spoke again after Porter’s memorial.
Alex Fine, now married to Cassie, reportedly glared at Diddy from the courtroom as she recounted these difficult moments. The two men have never spoken publicly about each other.
Cassie is pregnant and expected to finish her testimony by the end of the day as prosecutors want to ensure her health is protected. This marks day five of the trial, which has already included graphic descriptions of “freak-off” parties, drug use, and accusations of coercion and abuse.
The courtroom also heard about Diddy’s alleged jealousy, especially regarding celebrities like Kid Cudi and Michael B. Jordan, who were brought up during questioning about the nature of Diddy and Cassie’s on-again, off-again relationship.
