BTS members are taking time to focus on personal projects while still keeping their fans in the loop. Even though the group announced a break to work on solo endeavors, they continue to amaze with solo tracks that show their individual talents. Here’s a complete look at their solo work so far, from early mixtapes to new releases in 2025.
1. RM: Leading the Way
RM was the first to venture into solo music, dropping his self-titled mixtape RM in 2015. The 11-track project reflected his struggles and self-belief. In 2018, he followed up with Mono., a more introspective mixtape that earned positive attention, especially with the single “Forever Rain.”

Later, in 2022, RM released Indigo, which marked a new chapter in his solo career, featuring collaborations with artists like Erykah Badu and Anderson .Paak.
2. Suga: From Agust D to D-2 and D-Day
Suga introduced his alter ego, Agust D, with the mixtape Agust D in 2016, highlighting his underground rap style. In 2020, he released D-2, which was more reflective of his personal growth.

His 2023 release D-Day completed his mixtape trilogy. Suga also made waves by collaborating with Halsey on the anthem for Diablo IV, titled “Lilith.”
3. J-Hope: Pushing Boundaries
J-Hope was the next BTS member to release a solo project, debuting with Hope World in 2018. The mixtape showcased his versatility as both a rapper and producer.

In 2022, he released Jack in the Box, a more experimental album that focused on breaking boundaries. He also teamed up with J. Cole for the hit single “On the Street” in 2023.
4. Jin: A Gift to Fans
Jin has released several solo tracks, starting with “Tonight” in 2019, followed by “Abyss” in 2020. In 2021, he dropped “Yours,” a beautiful addition to the Jirisan soundtrack.

The playful “Super Tuna,” released on his birthday, became a fan favorite. In 2022, he worked with Coldplay on “The Astronaut,” which showcased his soothing vocals in a rock-inspired sound.
5. Jimin: Emotional and Heartfelt
Jimin’s solo tracks reflect his emotional depth. His first solo song, “Promise,” arrived in 2018 on SoundCloud. He later teamed up with Ha Sung Woon for “With You,” which became a chart-topper in 2022. His 2023 album FACE explored his personal journey, with hits like “Vibe” and “Closer Than This.”

6. Jung Kook: Exploring New Horizons
Jung Kook’s solo ventures took off with “Still With You” in 2020, followed by “My You” in 2022. His track “Stay Alive” was part of the 7 Fates: Chako webtoon.

Jung Kook also released “Dreamers” in 2022 as part of the 2022 FIFA World Cup soundtrack. In 2023, he dropped his highly anticipated album Golden, and in 2024, he released “Never Let Go,” a heartfelt song for fans.
7. V: Soulful and Smooth
V’s solo work is known for its soothing and romantic tones. His early releases included “Scenery” and “Winter Bear” in 2019, and “Snow Flower” with Peakboy in 2020.

His 2022 contribution to the Our Beloved Summer soundtrack, “Christmas Tree,” was a standout. In 2023, he released his debut album Layover, offering a blend of soulful ballads and reflective tracks.
8. New Projects in 2024-2025
The members of BTS continue to work on new music and projects in 2024 and 2025. J-Hope’s Hope on the Street documentary and album, as well as Jin’s upcoming album Echo, promise more exciting solo endeavors.
RM is also preparing for the release of his second solo album, Right Place, Wrong Person. Meanwhile, V has been working on collaborations, including a remix of Bing Crosby’s “White Christmas.”
