BTS and BLACKPINK Left Out of Grammy Nominations Again

The 2025 Grammy Awards nominations, announced on November 8, have drawn criticism for excluding K-pop artists for the second consecutive year.

Despite significant achievements from groups like BTS and BLACKPINK, none received nominations, prompting calls for a dedicated K-pop category.

Beyoncé leads this year’s nominations with 11, while other top contenders include Taylor Swift and Billie Eilish. The absence of BTS members RM, J-Hope, and Jimin—who released successful solo tracks this year—has disappointed fans. BLACKPINK’s Lisa was notably overlooked for Best New Artist.

Industry observers argue that the Grammys should introduce a K-pop category to recognize the genre’s global influence. HYBE’s CEO acknowledged the need for broader representation but has yet to implement changes.

Fans are voicing their frustration on social media as the Grammy ceremony approaches, scheduled for February 2, 2025, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
