Bruno Mars has announced that his long-awaited new solo album is finished, ending nearly a decade-long gap since his last full-length solo release.
The Grammy-winning singer shared the news on January 5 with a brief post on X, writing: “My album is done.” It will be his first solo album since 24K Magic in 2016, which topped charts worldwide and won seven Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year.
Since then, Mars has remained active through major collaborations rather than solo projects. In 2021, he formed the duo Silk Sonic with Anderson .Paak and released An Evening with Silk Sonic, led by the hit single “Leave the Door Open.”
More recently, Mars found global success with Lady Gaga on “Die With a Smile,” which won a Grammy in 2025. He also collaborated with BLACKPINK’s Rosé on “APT.”, a track that has gained worldwide popularity and is nominated for several 2026 Grammy Awards.
Details about the new album remain limited. Mars has not revealed the album’s title, tracklist, or release date. However, industry publication HITS Daily Double reports that a lead single could be released on Friday, January 10, potentially starting the album’s official rollout.
Fans have reacted with excitement across social media, sharing jokes and speculation about Mars’ return to his signature funk, R&B, and pop sound. Some observers believe the album could challenge current chart leaders, while others remain cautious as no official confirmation has been made.
Neither Mars nor his record label, Atlantic Records, has confirmed plans for a single or release schedule. Even so, anticipation is growing as the artist prepares for his first solo comeback in almost ten years.
