Blackpink’s Rosé Joins BTS’ Jung Kook in Billboard Chart History

Rosé has made history on the Billboard charts with her solo single “Apt.” featuring Bruno Mars.

This week, “Apt.” debuts at No. 30 on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart, making Rosé only the second K-pop soloist to ever appear on this ranking. The first was BTS’ Jung Kook, who made history in 2022 with “Left and Right,” his song with Charlie Puth.

The Adult Contemporary chart tracks songs played on radio stations that focus on softer, more mature pop music. It is not common for K-pop artists to appear on this list, making Rosé’s achievement even more impressive.

Rosé, originally from New Zealand, is still best known as a member of Blackpink, one of the biggest K-pop groups in the world. However, “Apt.” is not officially categorized as K-pop, despite her strong connection to the genre.

A Record-Breaking Song

With “Apt.,” Rosé has now appeared on all three major Billboard pop radio charts. The song has reached:

  • No. 1 on the Pop Airplay chart, making her the first K-pop soloist to achieve this.
  • No. 13 on the Adult Pop Airplay chart, setting another personal record.

Before Rosé, Fifty Fifty was the only other female K-pop act to appear on the Adult Contemporary chart with their hit “Cupid” in 2023.

BTS remains the most successful K-pop act on this chart. The group has placed three songs on the list, including “Dynamite” and “My Universe” with Coldplay, both peaking at No. 16.

With this latest milestone, Rosé continues to expand her influence beyond K-pop, proving her music has global appeal.
