Bill Gates Blames Elon Musk for Child Deaths After Aid Cuts

Bill Gates has made serious accusations against Elon Musk, blaming him for harming children in poor countries. In an interview with the Financial Times, Gates said Musk’s decisions have caused life-saving aid programs to collapse, especially in Africa.

Gates criticized Musk for cutting U.S. foreign aid through the new Department of Government Efficiency. Programs that once provided HIV treatment and vaccines have stopped. “Children are suffering and dying,” Gates said. “This is the direct result of his actions.”

One example Gates pointed to was in Mozambique, where a program to prevent HIV transmission from mothers to babies was shut down. Musk reportedly confused Mozambique with the Middle East, wrongly believing funds were going to Gaza. He admitted the mistake later, but Gates said, “His ignorance is costing lives.”

At the same time, Gates announced that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will shut down by 2045 after giving away $200 billion. He plans to donate 99% of his wealth, focusing on fighting polio, malaria, and child mortality. By 2026, the foundation’s yearly budget will rise to $10 billion.

Gates also criticized other countries, including the UK and France, for cutting aid. He warned, “Even with $200 billion, we can’t replace what governments used to provide.”

This clash reflects the ongoing divide between Gates’ philanthropic approach and Musk’s focus on private tech ventures. Their long-running feud continues, with Gates accusing Musk of ignoring real-world suffering while chasing innovation.
