Betting markets are showing a surge in the likelihood that Donald Trump will establish a Bitcoin reserve after taking office.
Kalshi and Polymarket see a growing probability that Trump will create a BTC reserve by 2026. Kalshi bettors estimate a 70% chance, while Polymarket users predict a 42% chance within the first 100 days.
This rise in betting odds reflects increasing optimism about Trump’s pro-crypto policies.
At the Bitcoin 2024 conference, Trump promised to make the United States a global crypto capital. He also vowed to create a national strategic bitcoin reserve.
On January 16, reports suggested that Trump might expand this reserve to include more cryptocurrencies, such as USD Coin (USDC), Solana (SOL), and XRP. He also plans to sign an executive order declaring crypto as a national priority after taking office.
Establishing a BTC reserve would boost Bitcoin adoption more than BTC ETFs, according to researchers from CoinShares.
