Pop star Benson Boone has debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with his new album American Heart, marking the highest-charting release of his career so far.
While the album fell short of the top spot overall—behind Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem—Boone still achieved a significant win: American Heart was the bestselling album of the week in the United States.
According to Luminate, Boone sold 30,000 copies of American Heart in its first week, earning him the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. That total easily surpassed the competition, with Haim’s new album I Quit debuting at No. 2 with under 13,400 sales. Boone outsold the next closest artist by more than double.
In total, American Heart moved 61,000 equivalent album units, a number that includes both sales and streaming. Roughly half of those units came from pure album sales, while the remainder came from digital streams. However, that figure still fell far behind Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem, which moved 177,000 units in its sixth week of release.
Despite the tough competition, Boone’s album made a strong showing across multiple charts. In addition to topping the Top Album Sales chart, American Heart also debuted at No. 1 on the Vinyl Albums chart and reached No. 5 on the Top Streaming Albums ranking.
Boone, who performed at the MTV EMAs in 2024 and has received Grammy nominations, continues to solidify his position as one of pop music’s rising stars.
