The Backstreet Boys kicked off their Into the Millennium residency at Las Vegas’ Sphere on Friday night (July 11), delivering a high-energy performance that blended nostalgia with state-of-the-art visuals.

Fans dressed in all white packed the nearly 20,000-seat venue, where the iconic boy band transported the crowd to outer space through immersive 360-degree visuals. The show opened with a massive spacecraft display that surrounded the audience before the group appeared on stage to perform their hit “Larger Than Life.”

The night was a celebration of their landmark 1999 album Millennium, as the group—Nick Carter, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, and Kevin Richardson—performed the entire tracklist. The set also included fan favorites from other albums, like Black & Blue, with songs such as “The Call” and “Shape of My Heart.”

The Backstreet Boys also performed “Hey,” a recently released track, showing that their catalog continues to grow even after decades in the music business.

Known for their harmonies and choreography, the group impressed with flawless vocals and tightly synchronized dance routines. Highlights of the show included a moment during “Siberia” when the Sphere’s giant screen displayed the band’s images carved into the side of a mountain, and another when the group rose above the audience on a ship while singing their signature hit “I Want It That Way.”

They closed the night with “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” leaving the crowd energized and eager for more.

The Backstreet Boys’ Into the Millennium residency at the Sphere will continue through August 24.
