Attack on Titan: Requiem

The conclusion of Attack on Titan remains one of the most polarizing finales in anime history.

While many fans appreciated the grand spectacle of the final confrontation, others were left yearning for a different outcome.

Studio Eclypse, a passionate fan-driven team, has stepped in to fill that void with Attack on Titan: Requiem, a fan-made project that reimagines the series’ ending.

Without delving into heavy spoilers, Attack on Titan’s original finale saw Eren Jaeger wielding the power of the Founding Titan to unleash the catastrophic Rumbling, aiming to protect his homeland by decimating much of humanity.

This led to an emotional and violent clash between Eren and his former allies, including Mikasa, Armin, and Levi. Studio Eclypse’s Requiem explores an alternate narrative path for Eren and the Survey Corps, offering fans a fresh perspective on the story’s climax.

The first 15-minute episode of Attack on Titan: Requiem has been released online, showcasing animation quality that rivals the original series.

The project, meticulously crafted over a significant period, demonstrates the remarkable creativity and dedication of the anime fan community.

For fans eager to revisit the world of Titans, Attack on Titan: The Last Attack, a compilation film condensing the series’ final episodes, is set to hit North American theaters on February 10. Clocking in at nearly two and a half hours, the film offers a cinematic recap of the original ending.

Creator Hajime Isayama has not hinted at a sequel to the series, though he recently explored Captain Levi’s backstory in a new short story.

While the possibility of an official continuation remains uncertain, Attack on Titan: Requiem ensures that fans can continue to engage with the story in new and unexpected ways.

For those who want to experience this alternate take, Requiem is now available online, offering a compelling addition to the legacy of Attack on Titan.
