Astronomer Names New CEO Amid Coldplay Scandal, Promises Stability

Astronomer, a data and AI startup, has appointed Pete DeJoy as its new interim CEO following the resignation of former CEO Andy Byron. Byron stepped down after a viral incident involving him and the company’s head of HR, Kristin Cabot, at a Coldplay concert sparked an internal investigation.

In his first statement, DeJoy acknowledged the intense media attention the company has faced in recent days, describing it as a “surreal” spotlight for a niche tech firm. He emphasized that Astronomer has faced challenges before and emerged stronger each time.

DeJoy reassured employees and stakeholders that the company will continue its work without interruption, praising the team’s resilience and affirming his commitment to maintaining a solid foundation during this turbulent time.

The controversy began after TMZ released exclusive footage showing Byron and Cabot sharing a kiss and close moments during a Coldplay concert, which raised questions about workplace conduct.

Despite the scandal, Astronomer’s new leadership signals the company’s intention to focus on business as usual while navigating the fallout.
