PlayStation has released a new free content update for Astro Bot, adding five fresh levels to the hit platformer. The best part? Players do not need a PS Plus subscription to access the new content.
The update introduces the Vicious Void Galaxy, pushing the total number of Astro Bot levels to more than 90. The new content downloads automatically the next time players launch the game, provided their console is connected to the internet. No manual download from the PlayStation Store is required unless auto-updates are turned off.
As part of this update, players can also unlock two new Bots inspired by Final Fantasy VII: Cloud and Sephiroth. Cloud can be found in the level called High Inflation, while Sephiroth is unlocked after completing all five new stages.
Originally released in 2024, Astro Bot has quickly become one of PlayStation 5’s standout games. It’s been praised for its nostalgic journey through PlayStation history and its engaging platforming mechanics. Many players view it as one of the console’s must-play titles.
The Vicious Void Galaxy expansion continues Sony’s trend of offering post-launch support for popular games at no extra cost, similar to long-supported titles like Dying Light.
Astro Bot is available now exclusively on PlayStation 5.
