Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Series 11 at its September 9 event, highlighting major advances in health monitoring, design, and connectivity.
The new smartwatch introduces blood pressure and hypertension detection features, powered by advanced machine learning. Apple says the watch can look for patterns of hypertension based on long-term data and clinical studies. While it will not identify every case, the company believes it will help many users discover undiagnosed conditions.
Other health upgrades include sleep quality scoring and sleep apnea alerts, further expanding the device’s role as a daily health companion.
On the design front, the Series 11 is thinner, lighter, and twice as scratch resistant, with a stronger front glass and a refined liquid-glass finish. It will be available in jet black, silver, rose gold, and space grey, all made from 100% recycled aluminum, alongside new Nike bands.
Connectivity also sees a leap forward with the addition of 5G cellular support, designed to be more power-efficient while improving speed and performance. Despite the faster wireless technology, Apple says the watch can now last up to 24 hours on a single charge.
The device runs on watchOS 26, introducing new watch faces and performance optimizations.
The Apple Watch Series 11 starts at $399 and will be available soon. Apple positions the device as both a fitness companion and a health-monitoring tool, though experts note its hypertension detection is a support feature rather than a full diagnostic tool.
