Apple TV+ has confirmed that production on the third season of its hit drama Severance will begin in April 2026, according to industry publication Production Weekly.
The report says filming is scheduled to run from April through December 2026. Based on the production and post-production timeline, the new season is expected to premiere on Apple TV+ in summer 2027, with a possible release as late as early autumn.
The schedule was first shared on social media by Apple TV News Hub and later confirmed by technology site 9to5Mac earlier this month. Sources cited by 9to5Mac also said scripts for the new season have recently been completed.
Season two of Severance ended in 2025 to strong reviews and widespread attention. The series received a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and featured on several “best of 2025” lists from outlets including Entertainment Weekly and IGN. The response has increased demand for updates about the show’s future.

Earlier comments from cast member Patricia Arquette had suggested filming could begin in spring 2026. The latest information from Production Weekly confirms an eight-month production period, followed by an estimated six to nine months of post-production work.
While the gap between seasons two and three is expected to be shorter than the wait between the first two seasons, viewers will still face a long delay after filming ends before new episodes are released.
With the production schedule now confirmed, further announcements are expected in the coming months. These may include casting updates, crew details and early hints about the direction of the story as filming approaches.
