Apple Music for Android Adds New Tools for Pins, Translations, and Listening Stats

Apple Music Top 500 Most-Streamed Songs of the Decade

Apple has released version 5.0 of the Apple Music app for Android, introducing several major features from iOS 26. The update is now rolling out via the Google Play Store after a month of beta testing.

The biggest addition is the ability to pin songs, albums, playlists, and artists in the Library tab for quick access. Pinned items appear in a grid layout and can be customized with actions like “Play,” “Shuffle,” or “Go to Album.” Pins sync across all Apple devices and can be set to download automatically, though this option can be disabled in settings.

Another key feature is Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation, which uses machine learning and expert fine-tuning to translate lyrics while preserving their emotion and cultural context. Users can adjust how translations and pronunciations are displayed in the app’s settings.

The update also improves the Replay experience, allowing subscribers to view monthly and year-end listening statistics directly within the app.

Despite these enhancements, some anticipated features remain absent. The update does not include AutoMix, Apple’s AI-powered continuous playback tool, or the new “Liquid Glass” design seen in other Apple interfaces. The overall layout of the app remains the same, with only minor changes to button shapes.

Users who participated in the beta will automatically receive the stable release. Apple Music 5.0 is available now for all Android users through the Play Store.
