Apple Music Reveals '100 Best Albums of All Time' List

Apple Music has announced their list of the 100 greatest albums ever made. This special ‘100 Best Albums’ list was created by Apple Music’s team of experts along with several popular artists, songwriters, and music professionals.

The list is not based just on streaming numbers. It is meant to honor the albums that have had a major influence on music and music fans over time.

Lauryn Hill’s groundbreaking 1998 album “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill” claims the top spot, beating out iconic works like Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” (No. 2), The Beatles’ “Abbey Road” (No. 3), and Prince’s “Purple Rain” (No. 4).

The top 10 is rounded out by modern classics such as Frank Ocean’s “Blonde,” Kendrick Lamar’s “good kid, m.A.A.d city,” Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black,” and Beyoncé’s “Lemonade.”

While canonical albums by The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye and others make the list, Apple Music’s picks skew toward contemporary and alternative sounds. Recent releases like Billie Eilish’s “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?” (No. 30) and Taylor Swift’s “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” (No. 18) rank highly.

The list has already sparked intense online debate, with fans arguing over omissions, rankings, and which albums deserve recognition as the greatest of all time. Music scholars are analyzing the cultural significance of Apple’s choices.
