The world of The Batman is about to expand once again. According to Deadline, a new TV spinoff set in the same gritty Gotham universe is now in early development.
Lauren LeFranc, the showrunner of The Penguin series, confirmed the news during a recent interview. She said her team is “in the early stages” of creating the next chapter in Matt Reeves’ growing Batman franchise.
This marks the second major spinoff from Reeves’ 2022 film The Batman, which starred Robert Pattinson as a younger, more grounded version of the Dark Knight. The first spinoff, The Penguin, stars Colin Farrell and is set to premiere soon on Max.
Details about the new series — including its characters, plot, and release date — are still under wraps. But fans can expect more of the dark, grounded tone that made The Batman a hit.
Matt Reeves has already made it clear he wants to build a connected Gotham universe, with stories that explore the city beyond just Batman himself.
As excitement builds, this new project shows that DC and Warner Bros. are doubling down on their Batman success — with no signs of slowing down.
